If humans have dog soul mates and partners, than Grace is mine. She is an excellent working partner on the farm, and
takes every job I give her without complaint. She learns jobs easily. She really tries to figure out what I want, even when I
haven't a darn clue. She is always right there to help. I have dozens of amusing 'it should have worked stories' with Grace,
and she always ended up saving my butt.
Grace is very pushy on her fetches, but settles nicely into a quiet and controlled drive. At this stage of her training, she
prefers having the control of her stock in a drive. She is not quite as confident working cattle as I would like, but gains
confidence with each exposure. She works all stock, but really likes working ducks. Which I don't.
Update 03/04/07 - Grace continues to grow more confident on cattle. She walks right up on heads and hits hard when
necessary. She will think about hitting in the rear, but hits a bit high, but is thinking about hitting lower.
01/06/08 Grace earned her WTCH in September. She has complete confidence on cattle, and I have learned to keep my
mouth shut. She still prefers heads to heels, but will hit behind, although still a bit high.
